"I think this is the best ever TOM CULLITY. The nose exudes serious class. A wine of balance, refinement, elegance, intensity, and finesse. A classic Margaret River Cabernet and—even though it’s still early days—clearly one of the best of the vintage... With excellent focus, great length, and silky tannins, this should surely provide pleasure for the next 20+ years."

“It’s hard to imagine a more glorious expression of Margaret River red wine than this wonderful wine that draws inspiration from the man who planted those first vines in 1967 and gives it a modern expression based on the great 2023 vintage... The palate is vibrant and alive with energy, but there is power and tremendous fruit concentration here. So beautifully elegant, with fine chalky tannins and fine, precise acidity helping to drive it through to a very long finish. Incredible freshness and vibrancy... The perfume is seductive and the ripe freshness so wonderfully expressive. The finest Tom yet."

“The 2023 season in Western Australia was benevolent, even, calm and mild. It was on the cooler side. The wines that I have seen in bottle so far, a number totaling in the many hundreds—red and white, across all styles—have been electric, poised, fresh, concentrated and attractively medium-bodied. Balance, is one of the greatest calling cards. Here, the 2023 Tom Cullity Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec is fine, chalky, fresh and layered... 2023, through the lens of this wine, is utterly superb. It's succulent too, though, and chewy, almost in its shape and structure..."

"Medium deep crimson. Intense blackcurrant marzipan aromas with hints of cedar and spice. Beautifully concentrated cassis, dark plum fruits, firm cedary textures and underlying marzipan, vanilla oak notes. A love tannin plume at the finish with bittersweet chinotto notes. Generous, impactful and classical with lovely vigour and flow. Drink now..."

"Medium-full colour with a good tinge of purple. Multi-faceted bouquet... the palate medium-full weighted with focused intensity, drive and power, delivered in a narrow channel of concentrated power, the tannins subtly assertive, the overall impression of depth with elegance, and a very long finish."

Tom's Blocks
Tom’s old vine Houghton clone Cabernet blocks (H,I,J & L) are grown on original roots, in the ancient gravel loam soils of Vasse Felix’s Home Vineyard site by the Wilyabrup Brook. In their maturity, Tom’s blocks ride through the challenges of vintage to reflect the beauty of the seasonal conditions. Comprising three different row orientations on a gentle slope overlooking the Estate, Tom’s old vine blocks represent a thorough representation of the Cabernet vintage through this special reference point, with each differing aspect contributing unique characters to each block. With vine roots set deep into the clay depth for ongoing access to water, our job is to nourish their health with sustainable viticulture practices to preserve the vines that are of such historical significance to the Margaret River wine region.
