“Some wines take your breath away – this is one of them.. The intensity of perfume on the nose is matched on the palate, complete with splayed, shapely, firm tannins, a spider thread of acidity and a mouth-filling delicacy of fruit.. Just sublime.”

“This is a beautiful wine and triumphant in the year that was. It is super, one of the finest 2021 Cabernets to be released from Margaret River in this year.”

"The records will show 2021 as a tricky vintage, but the best examples, Mouthfeel is key to this wine. It’s lavish, generous and mouth-coating and in short, has wow factor. Impressive now but is comfortably a 20-year cellaring proposition."

98 Points, Paul Edwards, The West Australian

"A beautiful, superbly approachable wine that still has a long life ahead in bottle. Great tension and minerality."

"Serious stuff. This is the showcase wine from one of the best wineries in Western Australia. Winemaker Virginia Willcock is knocking the ball out of the park with recent releases, and this new release showcases how stunning Margaret River cabernet blends can be, particularly when given four years to reach a peak before release. This is my dream texture. It is so subtle and restrained, yet it’s so deep. It is luscious, intense, multifaceted, plush, and comfortable without being heavy."

Tom's Blocks
Tom’s old vine Houghton clone Cabernet blocks (H,I,J & L) are grown on original roots, in the ancient gravel loam soils of Vasse Felix’s Home Vineyard site by the Wilyabrup Brook. In their maturity, Tom’s blocks ride through the challenges of vintage to reflect the beauty of the seasonal conditions. Comprising three different row orientations on a gentle slope overlooking the Estate, Tom’s old vine blocks represent a thorough representation of the Cabernet vintage through this special reference point, with each differing aspect contributing unique characters to each block. With vine roots set deep into the clay depth for ongoing access to water, our job is to nourish their health with sustainable viticulture practices to preserve the vines that are of such historical significance to the Margaret River wine region.
