The 2026 Vintage Report
The 2026 season unfolded under mild, steady conditions, with warm dry days, cool nights and ocean breezes allowing fruit to ripen slowly and evenly.
Following abundant winter rainfall in 2025, vines entered the growing season with excellent moisture reserves, resulting in healthy growth and generous bunch and berry size. Marri blossom arrived later than usual and was relatively short-lived, resulting in average bird pressure across the vineyards, with only moderate netting required in select areas. The first fruit arrived on 6 February. Yields were above expectation, with clean, disease-free fruit of exceptional quality, showing wonderful balance and purity.
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz were all harvested in excellent condition, with long, gentle ripening supporting flavour development while retaining vibrant natural acidity. By 13 March, white harvest (including Rosé) was complete, with the first red fruit arriving the same day in equally healthy condition. Healthy vineyard microflora encouraged beautifully complex wild fermentations, particularly across the Chardonnay parcels.
Meticulous work in the vineyard by our team delivered pristine fruit, with balanced light exposure and excellent vine health. In the winery, the team worked tirelessly around the clock to process fruit and guide each parcel through fermentation, supported by a fantastic international vintage crew who brought wonderful energy to the season.
Overall, 2026 has shaped up to be a vibrant and generous vintage across all varieties, producing elegant, medium bodied wines with distinctive character shaped by respectful handling.
