A soft and sumptuous Margaret River Shiraz. Vasse Felix Classics are fruit-driven, approachable styles that have become some of Australia's most popular everyday classics since their inception in the 1980s.
VINTAGE DESCRIPTION
Mild conditions in Margaret River with no extreme weather conditions, allowing for balanced fruit and a slow and steady intake. There was no disease pressure and fruit quality is excellent the only disappointment was yields being down across the Region for all key varieties. This was the outcome of storms in spring and pressure from an increase in the local population of Silver Eyes (birds) and no Marri Blossom.
Classically Drinkable Red
Classic Dry Red. Margaret River. In smaller print, on the front label, comes the word: Shiraz. It may well be shiraz but it's a relatively herbal version. It's not unripe or hard; it's fleshy with berries and peppers and cloves, a smoky talk-like character obvious throughout. It's not deep or profound but more importantly, it's not simple. It keeps you both guessing and interested, but in accessible way. It could be called a Classically Drinkable Red. (2014)
