Heytesbury is a barrel selection of the finest parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec from the 2008 Vintage. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend is supplemented with small portions of Malbec and Petit Verdot, which are distinctly perfumed, flavoured and structured. Both complement the restrained power of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vintage Description
A variable spring and hotter than usual Summer was fortunately followed by cooling conditions in early Autumn. Beautiful sunny days, but cold nights allowed for ideal, even physiological ripening.

Glistening fruitcake and fine cedar oak and sweet meat burnt bits: classy dense cabernet sauvignon this. Autumn leafy too with plug tobacco. Wow: this a cabernet sauvignon of massive proportion in the mouth, and yet it is still approachable and mouth-watering. Fruitcake, anise, fine sapid oack characters; grip, length, power. A wine with at least 20 years ahead of it. Sublime.

5 Stars. Top 100. A house style with gradual improvements each year, a world class wine, St Estephe-like aromas of black currant and stalk character. It has depth, concentration and complexity in small and large berry fruit with great length and evenness.

A blend of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and malbec. Very youthful, concentrated and dark,it shows intense red and dark fruit aromas, liberal French oak, and has a slightly chewy, thick density in the mouth.

The 2008 Heytesbury, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, retains a dark garnet color, just beginning to brick at the rim. It also retains its firm tannins, giving it a drying finish even at nine years of age. It's medium to full in body with a fine degree of elegance to its notes of cassis, earth, mint and vanilla. Drink it over the next several years.
