1997 Heytesbury

In 1995 the decision was made to produce a super premium red wine at the very top end of the scale that would take Vasse Felix to a dimension of quality not seen before. With utmost barrel selection, fruit selection and varietal blending freedom, the Heytesbury was born.
The 1995 and 1996 Heytesbury have a record of seven trophies, five Gold medals and three silver medals between them.

Tasting Notes
A very black and deep velvety wine in the glass with cassis, spice, coffee and dark chocolate in abundance. A powerful wine, dense and richly flavoured. The palate is more tightly structured than the 1995 and 1996, due to low yields in the 1997 vintage. A core of intense berry fruits, spice and cloves is surrounded with ripe tannins and supporting acid. This wine has cellaring potential of 10 – 15 years.
