'Son of' the Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon. It carries the structure, power and tannins of classic Cabernet in an earlier drinking, more forward style from fruit sourced from each of the Vasse Felix vineyards.
VINTAGE DESCRIPTION
Mild conditions in Margaret River with no extreme weather conditions, allowing for balanced fruit and a slow and steady intake. There was no disease pressure and fruit quality is excellent the only disappointment was yields being down across the Region for all key varieties. This was the outcome of storms in spring and pressure from an increase in the local population of Silver Eyes (birds) and no Marri Blossom.

Entry level Cabernet from Vasse Felix. Dusty gum leaf and gravel perfume, baking spices, and a mix of red and black berries. Medium bodied, again firm and dusty, subdued yet flavoursome, excellent bone structure and a lovely mouth-perfume, and a clean long finish. Trim and fresh, and very pleasant to drink.

Margaret River. Aged for 12 months in 13% new French oak. Blend of cabernet (87%) and malbec (13%). The dark malbec fruit embraces the classic structural elements of fine Margaret River cabernet to produce an earlier-drinking wine. The fruit, sourced from each of the Vasse Felix vineyards, is rich and dense and already packing a serious punch.

Deep red/purple colour with a very attractive, clean and pure, fruit-driven aroma of cedar, tobacco, cassis and violets. It's medium to full-bodied and intense, with gentle tannins which are not too pervasive, and an overall impression of suberb balance. The aftertaste is elegant and balanced and more-ish. A ripping cabernet.

Such an elegant and stylish cabernet that captures the regional stamp or Margaret River. Blackcurrant and black olive tapenade on the nose. The palate has good oak integration and firm sinewy tannins. Controlled and integrated. Its a wine that clearly over-delivers at this price.
